The Countdown Is On: Less Than Two Weeks Until a New School Year!

For many educators, summer break has flown by. It feels like just yesterday we were packing up our classrooms, saying goodbye to our students, and looking forward to a well-deserved break. Now, with less than two weeks before many schools reopen, a new school year is right around the corner.

First, I hope every teacher has taken time to rest.

Teaching is one of the most rewarding professions, but it is also one of the most demanding. Summer isn't just a vacation—it's an opportunity to recharge mentally, physically, and emotionally. Whether you traveled, spent time with family, caught up on sleep, read a good book, or simply enjoyed having a slower schedule, I hope this break gave you exactly what you needed.

Now comes one of my favorite times of the year.

There's something exciting about preparing for a fresh start. New students. New goals. New classroom ideas. New opportunities to make an impact.

Over the next couple of weeks, classrooms across the country will begin transforming once again. Teachers will be organizing supplies, decorating bulletin boards, planning engaging lessons, attending professional development, and setting the stage for another successful year of learning.

Of course, there may be a few nervous feelings mixed in with the excitement. That's completely normal. Every school year brings new challenges, but it also brings countless opportunities to inspire, encourage, and help students grow—not only academically, but personally as well.

As you prepare to head back to school, remember that you don't have to have everything figured out on day one. Focus on building relationships, creating a welcoming classroom, and giving yourself grace. The lesson plans will come together. The routines will develop. The confidence will grow.
